I've been drawing for a
long time, but only started painting recently. This was the resultant
of the concatenation of two main factors: (1) finding a way to draw
acceptable lines with acrylic paint and (2) having many available wood
panels (of not-too-big sizes) on which such paintings might be done. The lines involve using a more liquified acrylic in syringes of various sorts. They come out as a nice, thick beads. Drawing is sort of like cake decorating....but much harder on the fingers. The lines have their own sort of elegance. The wood panels are actually shooks -- the sides and bottoms of apple crates. They're leftovers from a previous business, BookCrates. Actually, the panels used for paintings are mostly ones I rejected as "not good enough" to pack into a customer's order. While defective as apple crate parts, many of these were perfectly good enough for other uses and I'd been putting them aside for years. The smaller paintings are approximately 9.25 x 18 inches. The larger ones are approximately 13 x 19 inches. Signed on the backs. Unframed -- but each has a sawtooth hanger and doesn't necessarily need a frame. |
| The most recent paintings
are of different sizes .... on gessoboard or canvasboard. Some of them
are framed. All such details will be noted on the individual painting
pages. Most paintings are shipped via UPS and all are fully insured. Ah, by the way, you might be interested to know about the gold foil that's incorporated into many of the candles and some of the other paintings. So far, it's all from chocolate bars which have been personally eaten by the artist! Moreover, to get the uniquely-dazzling effect of multi-toned gold, at least three different brands of chocolate must be eaten for each painting. ((Ah, the suffering one must endure for one's art!))
